WHAT IS MARKETING?
Let’s start with the basics. When you think about marketing, do you picture the influencers that you follow on Instagram? How about the sponsored posts you scroll past on Facebook? These are some fairly new examples of marketing in the digital age.
Marketing at its core is creating value for a product or service. This broad definition is jam packed with strategy, software, content, and design. Since graduating from Drexel University, I’ve only begun to peel back the layers of what people think marketing entails. When an electrical engineer types the position she is looking for into the search bar on LinkedIn or Monster, she sees all of the potential positions right in front of her. When a marketing professional searches for job opportunities, they have to think outside of the box:
