Authentic parts are always there. They just get buried under intense programming and outdated coping mechanisms. Often we say WHY AM I LIKE THIS and then we don’t realize there usually really is an answer. If you heard the real answer you wouldn’t be so mad at it. You’d be like oh yeah, this makes sense why I started doing this. The more you learn about the real you, the more you actually start to like, love and accept yourself. Stop trying to fix yourself and start trying to get to know yourself instead.
I spent most of my life telling myself to trust other people. I used my “mistakes” and life events to say, “see? I told you you were wrong.” Why? Because it didn’t feel safe to trust my judgment. I had found all of this evidence to see why I shouldn’t. But if I had been living in a self-trusting place, I would have found a lot of evidence as to why I should trust myself.
You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. remember that strength doesn’t always look like powering through. Sometimes it’s crying. Sometimes it’s asking for help. Sometimes it’s speaking up. Sometimes it’s recharging. Sometimes it’s trying something new. Reclaim what the word strength means to you and show yourself the true power of your nature #wordtoyourmantra #wordstoliveby #reclaimyourpower
Your purpose doesn’t have to be as specific and narrow as you think. Your purpose ultimately is to find yourself and feel free. You deserve that.
I felt myself digging through the trenches in counseling and found a lot of darkness. I needed a break from the past. A break from the struggle. I felt weird for thinking that way and tried to resist it because I wanted to heal quickly. This led me to an honest moment that showed me once again that intention is everything. I was going deep into things to “fix myself fast.” I am now leaning into the intention of listening to myself and what I need. Healing can be tough, but it can also come from things we love, too. Do the work, but remember to listen to yourself along the way. Notice if your intention is coming from a place of criticism or love.
